Spicy Scrabble
Scrabble, Intelect... There are many names under which this popular game can be found, where you form words from the letters chance has given you. Depending on the complexity of the word formed, and with the help of some special squares, you earn points to add to your score to compete against other players. After this brief description of Scrabble, you should all know what game it is, so let's move on to our spicy suggestion for this week.
What we propose is a slight variation of the game rules, prohibiting all words that aren't spicy in any of their meanings or in a given context. If there's any doubt, the player who introduces the questioned word must provide a convincing explanation of their reasons for placing that word on the board.
The finishing touch to the idea comes in the second variation we suggest for the game rules: any player during their turn can remove up to three words from the board and ask another player to carry out the action suggested by those words. For example, if the words "kiss" and "mouth" are removed, the player has the right to receive a kiss on the mouth from the player they choose. Another example: if we remove the words "unbutton" and "shirt," the player of our choice must take off their shirt.
If the fact that each player can remove words during all their turns seems excessive, you can cut this privilege by limiting it only to the case of players who reach special squares for the first time, decided at the start of the game (e.g., the squares on the main diagonals). Another limitation could be that each player can only remove words a certain number of times (for example, five) during the game.
The game we propose, as you've probably guessed, is for two or more players and is an ideal way to make good use of one of those typical games that many have gathering dust in the closet due to lack of use. Who said Scrabble couldn't be spicy?!
